CURRICULUM

Because Korean is a non-Germanic language so for English 1st speakers, explicit content will be needed for students to become more proficient. Every day in two (1 morning. 1 afternoon) 50 min class. campers will participate in a Korean Language class. The following curriculums are overarching themes within weekly units. Each age group will have its own specific unit plan. Where classes and materials will be catered to each group's grade levels.

WEEK 1: THE LEGEND OF HANGUL

During this week students will be introduced to the history of the Korean language, South Korea, basic greetings, and how to write their names.

WEEK 2: FAIRYTALES & FAMILY

Through new Korean folktales and familiar fairytales. Campers will learn about the titles of family members in Korean and how to introduce their family members t others.

WEEK 3: SCHOOL! SOUTH KOREA VS THE UNITED STATES

During this week campers will be introduced to vocabulary and grammar dealing with school. They will also get a chance to compare their school lives to those in the Korean language speaking world.

WEEK 4: THE COOKOUT

As we reach the halfway point of the camp campers will get to learn all about their favorite foods. And how important food is in Korean culture.

WEEK 5: SEASON'S GREETING

Food and celebration go hand in hand in most cultures. Campers will get to look at the Korean calendar. And share how their families celebrate holidays in their culture.

WEEK 6: MONEY. SHOPPING. FASHION.

In the ever changing world of the internet campers can feel pressured to look or act a certain way. During this week campers will be promoted to shop, learn the South Korean monetary system and explore fashion in the two different countries.

WEEK 7: ANIMAL KINGDOM

Being that our camp will be located on a farm. Students will get a chance to learn about local and global animals. And how the world of humans and animals is intertwine.

UNIT PLAN

WEEK 8: THE WORLD & ME

Wrapping up the camp students will get to put their global citizenship to the test as they learn about different countries, cultures and world travel.
