WHAT IS
CAMP TTEOK?

Camp Tteok is the immersive Korean Language Summer Day Camp Program.

At Camp Tteok we believe an authentic cultural exchange leads to global citizenship. As the world of the internet grows rapidly every day. Families are exposed to hundreds of thousands of communities and cultures besides their own as we evolve into a more multicultural society every day. Navigating the avenues of communication can be difficult. We here at Camp Tteok believe that including numerous children from different backgrounds will create a stronger community that can grow and learn together.

WHAT HAPPENS AT
CAMP TTEOK?

At Camp Tteok students will spend their day in an immersive, communicative, and fun learning environment. Not only will they be learning Korean but do so through normal camp activities such as gardening, arts and crafts, dance, sports, and more. Students will be given the space to create, play and share their own culture in the target language.

Cultivate Communication
Campers will be encouraged to communicate with each other and staff in Korean leading to a more natural inclination to communicate in their home languages.

Cultivate Understanding
We believe that understanding is one of the most powerful skills a person can have. Campers will be exposed to the unfamiliar in safe environments where they can vocalize their thought processes.

Cultivate Connections
We believe that the world can be connected through culture and wants students to find themselves in our curriculum and the world around them.

WHO CAN ATTEND CAMP TTEOK?

ANYONE

During the summer, Camp Tteok is open for 8 weeks during the day. Just because we are a Korean Language camp does not mean we are limited to Korean or Asian American families. As an inclusive camp, we serve children ages 6 – 14 years old from all cultural, ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
